LED TVs vs. LCD TVs: How do they differ?
Most people today prefer to upgrade to the home theatre system. While this includes many things, the one major question that people get stuck at is: What kind of TV to buy? Though the new models like OLED and QLED have hit the stores, the two types of TVs that are more commonly used are LED TV and LCD TV. Though well-known, many people seem to be unaware of the difference between an LED TV and an LCD TV. Backlighting: This is the main difference between an LED and an LCD TV. Technically speaking, an LED TV is a type of LCD TV because both have Liquid Crystal Display. The point of difference is the lights that they use. LCDs use fluorescent lights while LEDs use those light emitting diodes at the back of their screens. Further, in LEDs, this placement of the light can differ i.e., the light emitting diodes can be placed behind the screen (backlit) or around its edges (edge-lit).
